HIPS - Luvly Jubbly

31 Jul 2007 - JG

T minus one day until the HIPs story continues and it looks like the Labour Party and its members themselves will be cashing in from the chaos. The Telegraph reports that they are set to make thousands of pounds after the party teamed up with a law firm and are offering discounted HIPs for all its members, as part of its Labour Legal Services. Cashing in on an unmitigated disaster of their own making is taking it all a bit too far! I know they have party funding issues at the moment, particularly seeing as they are not allowed to sell off peerages or honours to the highest bidder; but creating a mess and then offering people a cheap way out is taking money making schemes to new Del-boy heights.

They have warned estate agents that a failure to comply with the new Home Information Packs regulations could result in a ban from estate agency work. The Mail is highlighting the lack of any information on flood risks being included in the packs. While Trevor Kent, former president of the National Association of Estate Agents, is claiming that estate agents are not ready for the introduction of the packs. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for the DCLG...
